Engaging The International Students Through Conversational Introductions
Keith J. Connell, a researcher in higher education, will be facilitating a roundtable discussion at the upcoming UBC Graduate Students in Teaching Conference. The discussion will focus on engaging international students through conversational introductions.
International students are important to the higher education community but often face unique challenges when socializing and integrating into new environments. This roundtable discussion will explore how conversational introductions can engage international students and create a more inclusive and welcoming classroom environment.
During the roundtable, Keith J. Connell will draw on his extensive research on the international student experience to share insights and best practices for engaging international students through conversational introductions. Participants can share their experiences and strategies and engage in a lively discussion on how to better support international students in the classroom.
The UBC Graduate Students in Teaching Conference is an annual event that brings graduate students, faculty, and staff together to share best practices and insights on teaching and learning.
