This course addresses the leadership issues relevant to today’s world. According to Daft (2005), the world of leadership and organizations is undergoing a revolution and this course addresses the qualities and skills leaders need in this rapidly changing world. “Recent ethical scandals, global crises, the emergence of e-commerce, learning organizations, virtual teams, globalization, knowledge work, and other ongoing transformations place new demands on leaders far beyond the topics traditionally taught in courses on management or organizational behavior” (Daft, 2005, pl Xiii).

The focus is on a "how to" approach, which stresses learning by doing through examples, exercises and role-playing of selling situations. The skills developed in this course are applicable in all aspects of life: course work, job search, career sales, and idea presentation.

The variety of available media such as resumes, personal websites and social media are explored, as well as career planning and professional development opportunities.
