Keith J. Connell, PhD, MBA
Keith J. Connell is a full-time professor in the Design and Visual Arts department at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario, where he teaches in the Digital Content Creation and Strategy program. His courses span web design, web strategies, content strategy, accessibility, business communication, entrepreneurship, and project management.
His PhD research is in Educational Leadership and policy and his MBA is in Leadership and Innovation, and brings approximately thirty years of professional marketing experience to his academic practice. That convergence of industry depth and scholarly rigour defines everything he does in the classroom, in research, and in the advisory work he undertakes through his consulting practice.
His doctoral research examines international student persistence in Ontario colleges during the post-cap period, with particular attention to the structural, social, and institutional conditions that determine whether students remain enrolled and succeed. It is work that matters to him not as an abstract scholarly exercise, but because the students in his courses represent the precise population his research is designed to understand and serve.
