This site collects as little as possible, keeps it secure and never sells or shares it.
Website statistics
I measure visits with my own privacy-first statistics. No advertising or tracking cookies are used, no third-party analytics service receives your data and your IP address is never stored. Visits are counted with a code that changes every day, so a visitor cannot be followed from one day to the next. I see totals such as pages viewed, time on page, the type of device and the website that referred you.
To show you the office address and phone number closest to you, this site looks up the city your network connection appears to come from. The lookup is made once by ipinfo.io, only the resulting city, region and country are kept for up to 30 days against a one-way scrambled code, and your network address itself is never stored.
The Interview Room
When you start a conversation, your name, email, organisation and messages are encrypted before they are saved. Your messages are delivered to me by text message and email so I can reply. I use your email only to send my reply if you leave the page. You can ask me to delete a conversation at any time.
Contact form
Messages sent through the contact form are encrypted when stored and used only to respond to you.
Article emails
If you subscribe, you will first receive an email asking you to confirm. Your email address is stored encrypted, every email includes an unsubscribe link and your consent is recorded in keeping with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Embedded media
Videos, podcasts and Instagram posts in the Media Room come from YouTube, Spotify and Instagram. YouTube videos use the privacy-enhanced mode and load only when you press play. Those services have their own privacy policies.
